Vedic Yagya Center

Vedic Yagya Center was founded in 2002 by Pandit Sharma C.S. Samavedula, a 6th generation Sama Veda pandit, who has been performing Vedic yagyas for clients throughout the world for over 20 years.

The Center offers to individuals, organizations and businesses the most authentic and effective traditional Vedic yagyas (sacred ceremonies), homams (ancient fire ceremonies), and pujas as prescribed in the Vedas and Shastras, the holy Indian scriptures. By utilizing the sound vibrations of specific Sanskrit mantras, these performances can help alleviate many problems of our modern times.

The Center has facilities near Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh, India (close to the holy Krishna River and Divine Mother Kanaka Durga Temple) and in Fairfield, Iowa, U.S.A. The Center employs a core group of over 20 Vedic Pandits representing all 4 branches of the Vedas, who are experts in different kinds of yagyas, homams and pujas, including Sri Vidya Navavarana Pujas, Maha Vidya Homas, Surya Upasana, and Maha Chandi Yagyas. Some pandits specialize in health, some in business, etc., so the Center organizes groups according to their specialties. For large yagyas, which can have as many as 100 to 150 pandits, the Center contracts with other expert Vedic pandits. All pandits working through the Center begin their day with meditation, followed by performance of the Rudrabishek, and then go to their other duties.

Pandit Sharma and his Vedic pandits have traveled all over India, Canada and the U.S., as well as to many other countries in the world, including New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and England, performing their services.

The Center also provides Vedic astrology (Jyotish) consultations for individuals and businesses; Vastu consultations and Vastu rectification yagyas, as well as Vastu designs for temples, homes, and businesses. Proper Vastu harmonizes the positive flow of energy in buildings.

In addition, the Center supports the Vydic Foundation of India, which is a school and charitable trust that trains Vedic Pandits in Kanchikacherla, Andhra Pradesh, India. This school now has 40 students and 9 professors (Acharyas). Besides operating the pandit training school, this Foundation is also actively involved in feeding the poor.

Pandit Sharma C.S. Samavedula

Pandit Sharma C.S. Samavedula is the founder of the Vedic Yagya Center. He was born in 1971 in Manindragar, Madhya Pradesh, India into a family of South Indian Brahmans.

His father is Brahma Shri Samavedula Trinadha Lakshmi Narasimha Murty, a Sama Veda Pandit and an expert in Shri Vidya (Shri Vidya Upasaka – A pandit who performs Shri Vidya pujas and yagyas).

Pandit Sharma is a 6th generation Sama Veda pandit and also a Shri Vidya Upasaka. He began his training in the Vedas at age 7 taught by his grandfather, the late Brahma Shri Samavedula Narayana Shastri, who was a renowned Sama Veda Pandit that received an award from the President of India. His grandfather was employed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in Andhra Pradesh, India.

When Pandit Sharma was 15, his grandfather became a professor (acharya) at Shri Sarva Raya Veda Patha Shala, a pandit training school in Andhra Pradesh, India, and Pandit Sharma was enrolled in this school to continue his Vedic education.

In 1990, after 12 years of study, Pandit Sharma received his Master’s Degree in Vedic Studies (Ganapati Pandit). During this time, besides learning the Vedas, he also learned the grammar and other aspects of Sanskrit and the performance of different kinds of pujas and yagyas. In addition, he completed his secular studies through the 12th grade.

From 1990 to 1991, Pandit Sharma studied the Ashta Brahmana and Grihya Sutras with the late Shri Shankar Shrauti Gal, who was a professor (acharya) at the Veda Mimansa Anusandhana Kendra school in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

From 1991 to 1995, Pandit Sharma was a professor (acharya) of Sama Veda at Maharishi Veda Vigyana Vishwa Vidya Peeth, a charitable trust that trains Vedic Pandits throughout India. From 1995 to 1997, he was a Vedic priest at the Vishnu Temple (Voice of Vedas) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1998, he was a Vedic priest at the Shiva Vishnu Temple in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1999 to 2001, he was the head Vedic priest at the Hindu Mandir of Quebec in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In 2001, Pandit Sharma was the officiating chief priest at the Maharudra yagya in Atlanta, Georgia, which was performed by 50 Vedic Pandits.

In 2002, Pandit Sharma founded the Vedic Yagya Center. Pandit Sharma has also assisted in the founding, organizing, fundraising and building of many temples in North America, including the Austin Hindu Temple, in Austin, Texas, where he served as the head Vedic priest, and the Sri Devi Mandir in Fairfield, Iowa.

Pandit Sharma’s grandfather, the late Brahma Shri Samavedula Narayana Shastri, at the end of his life, told Pandit Sharma that he will be in a very good position one day, and that whenever God has given him enough, he should start a Vedic school to preserve the Vedas.

In keeping with his grandfather’s wishes, in 2002, Pandit Sharma and his father founded the Vydic Foundation of India, which is a charitable trust and school that trains Vedic Pandits in Kanchikacherla, Andhra Pradesh, India and is also actively involved in feeding the poor. This school now has 40 students and 9 professors (acharyas).

Vydic Foundation of India

Vydic Foundation of India is a charitable trust (non-profit organization) that operates a school, which trains Vedic Pandits, and that is also actively involved in feeding and assisting the poor. The Vedic Yagya Center helps to financially support this Foundation.

The Foundation was established in 2002 by Brahma Shri Samavedula Trinadha Lakshmi Narasimha Murty and his son, Pandit Sharma C.S. Samavedula, under the divine inspiration of a renowned Samaveda Pandit, the late Brahma Sri Samavedula Narayana Shastri, who was Pandit Sharma’s grandfather. The Foundation was created for the sole purpose of preserving and propagating the Vedas, Vedic yagyas and Vedic culture. Located at Kanchikacherla, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, the Trust was registered on 14 August 2002 under the Andhra Pradesh Government. (Registration No. 235/02).

The Foundation’s Vedic school currently has 40 students and 9 professors (Acharyas). The Acharyas impart the knowledge to the students with complete dedication and by means of traditional methods. The students study Rigveda, Shukla Yajur Veda, Krishna Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda and Smartha. Each of these Vedas is divided into 4 sections (i.e., Samhita, Brahmanas, Aranyakas and Upanishads) which cover the whole gamut of various Karmas, systems and other salient features of the Vedic tradition.

In order to have an easy access to this treasure of ancient scriptures and literature, all our students master the Sanskrit language. Conversational Sanskrit is mandatory in our institution. The students also observe all the principles established for a Brahmacharya (one who observes celibacy until marriage). They also observe a strict regimen as traditionally prescribed for the three stipulated periods of the day.
