20th, Monday: Maha Shivarathri: Maha Shiva Rathri Special Program -
Ekadasha Rudrabhishekam, Rudra Homa & Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam: Vydic Yagya Center will be performing Special EKADASHA RUDRABHISHEKAM followed by Rudra Homa with your name in the sankalpa. Rudrabhishekam
will be performed Eleven times to Shiva Linga with the holy chanting of
Sri Rudram with natural nectars like Cow Milk, Yogurt, Sugarcane Juice,
Honey, Saturated Butter from Cow milk, and other Fruit juices. These
Natural nectars will be poured over the Shiva Linga along with the
chanting of Sri Rudram. This is Known as Rudrabhishekam. At the end of
every Rudra adhyayam Shiva ling will be cleaned with Holy water or Ganga

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra
The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is a special, short, sweet yet extremely powerful prayer to the Lord Shiva seeking his protection from the clutches of "death". The word 'Mrityu' - means death, 'Jaya' -
means victory. This means in short that This Mantra is a spiritual Weapon which gives victory to the
seeker
over the God of Death. The main idea here is not the death of the
physical "death" of this body which is only a mere temporary medium for
the soul to move about in this world. But rather it signifies
the resurrection from the Spiritual "death". The mantra is a
humble request to Lord Shiva to save us from the eternal cycle of
innumerable birth & death cycle and relieve us from this bondage
and lead us un to the real Bliss Supreme, which is the actual and true
Eternal Happiness, that is to merge in the Lord him self. The origin of this Maha Mrityunjaya mantra & Markandeya Story:
There
lived a very good Rishi couple, Mrikandu and his obidient wife
Marudvati. They were both ardent devotees of Lord Shiva & Parvati.
They were dwelling in forests, meditating and praying to their dear Lord
for many years and were happy. But their happiness did not last long as
they were childless and were unable to clear the debt of "Pitru Runa"
(Ancestral Debt). So the couple started meditating to Their Dear Lord
Shiva & Goddess Parvathi for a boon in the form of a Son. Pleased
with their devotion, Lord Siva appeared to them, and said, "I am pleased
with your devotion. Tell me, do you want a daughter who will become a
widow early in life and remain with you for ever or would you like to
have a son, who will be very intelligent but, who will live for only
sixteen years?" Rishi Mrikandu at once replied and said, "O Lord, please
give me that one intelligent son." Lord Siva blessed the couple and
said, "So be it! You shall have him."

Chant of the Month - Sri Maha Mrityunjaya mantra
Pundit ji suggests that devotees who recite this mantra every morning after taking a bath.
Interested people may recite it at least 11 times in a day.
The Mantra in Sanskrit is written as:
The Mantra in English is written as:
OM triyambakam yajāmahe sugandhim pushTivardhanam,
urvārukamiva bandhanān mrrityormokshiya māmrritāt.
We
worship to Lord Shiva - The Three-Eyed (tryambakam) Lord (yajamahe);
Who is fragrant (sugandhim) and nourishes (pushti) and grows
(vardhanam) all the beings. As the ripened cucumber (urvarukamiva) is
liberated (bandhanaan - by the intervention of the "farmer") from its
bondage to the creeper when it ripes completely; May He (Lord Shiva) also liberate us
(mokshiya) from death (mrityor), for the sake of immortality
(maamritaat).
Spiritual Significance :
Lord Shiva is also
referred to as tryambakam, the three-eyed one, because his third-eye
has been "opened" by the powers of penance and meditation. The third
eye is said to be located in the space
between the eyebrows,
and is "opened" when one experiences spiritual awakening. So, when we
pray to Lord Shiva, we are in reality seeking his blessings and help in
opening our third eye of spiritual knowledge.
The natural
consequence of this awakening is that we will be led towards spiritual
liberation or moksha, and attain liberation by cutting asunder the
eternal bondage formed from the cycles of death and rebirth.

Vedic Yagya Center will be performing a very special Daily Rudrabhishekam
Yagya on a monthly subscription for prosperity, protection and health
improvement, and especially for longevity. These Yagyas will be
performed in the USA and run for an entire month at a time.

person, per month. That is just $1.00/day per person!
Annual subscriptions are welcome. If you sign up for a whole year, you
save almost 20%. The annual subscription is just $301.00.

This is different from the Daily Yagyas, which cost 10x as much. We
