SEPTEMBER 12th (Monday) - 26th (Monday): Mahalaya Paksha or Pitru Paksha (Annual Ancestral rites period): VYC will be doing these in India for all the sponsored. This is the most ideal and most opportune time to do this for any of your beloved departed elders, parents or any other departed souls. This gives their souls peace and solace in the other world.

This Mahalaya Paksha period begins this year from September 12th (Monday) and concludes on 26th, 2011 (Monday): Mahalaya Paksha (Pitru Paksha):

The dark fortnight of Asweja (September-October) is known as the Mahalaya Paksha or the fortnight specially dedicated to the sacred for offering oblations to the dead ancestors souls. The last day of this period, the new moon day, is considered as the most important day in the year for performing obsequies and rites. On Mahalaya Amavasya, Brahmin Santarpana (Massive feeding) is performed on behalf of dead ancestors to provide them peace in their world. Vedic belief is that Shraadha ritual performed on this Amavasya makes their dead ancestors free from all the sins they have committed when they were alive and provides them salvation.VYC will be performing Pitru Tarpanams, Brahmin Santarpana, Dana every day.

Spiritually proven, there are two reasons for all of our everyday problems. One is said to be caused by the planets, the other by the departed spirits of our ancestors.
